5 de Mayo is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla, the state where I came from which is really nice in my opinion. I think is celebrate more here in the US than in Mexico. The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn. So tonight I am going to have a party at my house....sweeet!!
